Tupperware: A long way from stretching your food dollar

A new campaign from Tupperware: ‘Useful is Beautiful.’. This company has been for 78 years. This brand has undergone many revisions of cultural references, good and bad. Because I’m a GenX’er, the first time Tupperware made an impression on me was a scene in the 1980 movie ‘Airplane!’ where Elaine is giving her sales pitch to a bunch of natives on a remote island on how to “stretch your food dollar” - another classic one-liner from one of the most culturally inappropriate and memorable movies ever made.

I’m glad a new revitalization of ‘Useful is Beautiful’ has been found, because Tupperware is nothing if not durable, useful, and everlasting.
