Campaign: Still G.I.N - Rappers Dr. Dre and Snoop featuring AI ‘Sammy Davis Jr., and Frank Sinatra’
Objective: The ad was produced in partnership with Rosewood Creative and directed by the acclaimed Dave Meyers. It incorporates cutting-edge generative AI technology by Metaphysic to bring Sinatra and Davis back to life with striking *authenticity.
Why it works (and *doesn’t):
People love it. The Youtube stat 882,816 from Dec 10, 2024 to Dec 16, 2024 (six days)
@chrissybritt5152 - “This is the first and probably the last AI that I can truly appreciate! Legends doing legendary things!!”Personally, I love ads that meld the retro-to-the-now-concept, and I’m a huge Rat Pack fan so this is a feast for my eyes.
The concept is fun and light, it’s got glamour, humor, and nostalgia.
Why it doesn’t:
The AI effect is very grainy and fuzzy, it is distracting, jagged, fuzzy, and off. Maybe a bit of uncanny valley happening here (a psychological phenomenon that describes the feeling of unease or revulsion when confronted with something that seems almost human but not quite).
